Legendary Rumba Combo from Barcelona. The two brothers Jose & Delfin Amaya (related to the famous flamenco star Carmen Amaya) started out at the beginning of the sixties with the help of Carmen's guitar player Andrés Batista, recording their first abum when they were just 16. In 1971 they recorded the classic Caramelos (also my personal favorite, a 45 I'm still looking for...) and a massive amount of hits followed, Zapatero Remendon, Bailen mi Rumbita, El Jala-Jala (original by Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz) and Qué mala suerte la mía. In 1977 they switched record company and met Tony Ronald, who produced their biggest hits La inyección and Vete. However, we prefer their early seventies work, although it takes some effort to locate these ones in the recordbins of Barcelona.
