Lole y Manuel

Lole y Manuel are a duo formed in 1972 by Dolores Montoya Rodríguez (Sevilla, 1964) and Manuel Molina Jiménez (Ceuta, 1948) and constituted one one the first flamenco groups which crossed over to the more mainstream listeners, precursoring the wave of Nuevo Flamenco. They released their first album in 1975, Nuevo Dia, containing certain arabian musical elements, combined with hippy-ish lyrics about peace, love and flowers. In 1993 they divorced, split up and continued working on a solo career untill this day. Tracks of Lole and Manuel were used for movies like Flamenco (Carlos Saura, 1995) and Kill Bill 2 (Quentin Tarantino, 2004).
