Las Grecas are two gipsy sisters from Valladolid: Carmela Muñoz Barull (1954) and Edelina "Tina" Muñoz Barrull (1957). They formed in 1973 and created an exciting hybrid of rock and flamenco. They even got help from the great Cameron de La Isla and scored they first and biggest hit with Te Estoy Amando Locamente, which occupied the top of the Spanish hitlist for 5 weeks in 1974 and one of my all time favorite flamencopop hybrids. The released 4 full albums untill they disbanded in 1979. Tina later suffered a severe mental disorder and even wounded her sister with a knife on one occasion.
